BEACH TENNIS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO BEACH VOLLEYBALL

Tennis, like other sports, also has its beach version. It's a fairly easy and very fun game that combines sports such as tennis, badminton and beach volleyball. BEACH TENNIS - WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?
Beach tennis is a game of mainly two pairs: doubles or mixed, although it doesn't quite resemble its land-based version. The most important thing in this case is that the ball cannot touch the ground and the beach tennis net is suspended more or less at the height of the players head. The game is played with special rackets which, in comparison to traditional ones, have no stringing:
● by their appearance they somewhat resemble table tennis rackets,
● they are completely solid,
● they have only small holes to break the air resistance.
Beach tennis balls are also different from the classic ones:
● have reduced pressure - they're softer,
● they reach a much slower speed than those for tennis.
The beach volleyball court can be used to play the match as it has exactly the same dimensions (16 metres long and 8 metres wide). The difference in pitch preparation, however, lies in the net. The one for beach tennis has a much smaller mesh, which prevents the tennis ball from passing through. It should be suspended at a height of 1.7 metres. There are appropriate accessories to mark the boundaries of the playground. After that, you can start playing!
BEACH TENNIS - EQUIPMENT ON THE COURT
The basis for preparing a beach tennis court is not only a net and designated lines. It also includes beach tennis posts which must be very well fixed to the ground. Due to the fact that the sand is not completely stable, it is worth supporting the entire structure on bushings additionally equipped with an immobilizing cross-brace. These are what the posts will be based on. It is worth investing in the high quality ones with aluminium profiles, which ensure high durability and will serve for a very long time. You should also pay attention to the proper tension of the net, which is only possible with professional equipment.
A key role play also paddings for volleyball posts. Definitely, they:
● improve the level of safety during the game,
● provide protection to metal components,
● are the best protection for a player against hitting a hard post.
When choosing paddings, consider whether you want them to fit round or square posts. They must also be highly resistant to damage and deformation, as well as being equipped with an easy installation and removal system. Velcro fasteners are the best option, allowing you to easily and quickly place the cover on a given post. Additionally, they should be supported by rivets that reduce the risk of accidental opening.

For both beach tennis and the sand volleyball variation - in addition to the court - the same posts and the same paddings can be used. The clear difference, however, is in the net, which for beach tennis must not only be altered, but also hung at a different, lower height, making the game more like badminton. And while these differences are apparent, it is easy to confuse a court designed for beach tennis with one designed for volleyball. However, the appearance on the field of players with distinctive rackets dispels all doubts.
