BEACH VOLLEYBALL - A SPORT FOR EVERYONE

2021-03-19

Beach volleyball is a sport that is growing in popularity each year. The sun, the beach and, above all, being outdoors encourages you to cheer on the competitors, but also to try your hand on the court with a group of friends. What are the rules of beach volleyball and how does it differ from traditional indoor volleyball?

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BEACH AND INDOOR VOLLEYBALL

First of all, the game of beach volleyball, as the name suggests, takes place on a beach - not a hall. The uneven ground and weather conditions require much more energy from the players and preparation for the game itself.

As the beach volleyball is much lighter than a standard one, the accompanying wind often blows the ball away, which means that the players have to work hard to score points. It is also worth noting that the number of team players also differs significantly from the traditional game.

Beach volleyball is played by two people from each team, resulting in 4 players on the court.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL RULES

Do you love summer, sun, sand and high temperatures, but sunbathing on a sunbed is definitely not for you? If you prefer an active form of recreation try playing beach volleyball! You will not only get a beautiful tan, but you will also burn a lot of calories and, above all, you will have a great time in an active way.

The rules of beach volleyball are also very easy to remember! What is important for many amateurs of the sport? Unlike standard volleyball, on the beach the ball can be bounced with any part of the body. So it doesn't matter whether it's a professional play or kicking the ball with your foot. The most important thing is to get the ball through to the other half of the court, score and win against the opposing team. Importantly, once a point is scored, the team has only 5 seconds to make a serve, which often causes masses of joy among the players at amateur level.

As in the standard game, in beach volleyball a player may not bounce the ball more than once and the whole team may not bounce the ball more than 3 times. The last, 3rd rebound should be a throw-in to the other half of the court.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL COURT - WHAT SIZE SHOULD IT HAVE?

The standard dimensions of the beach volleyball court are 16x8m. Half of the court is marked out by a net and the playing area is bordered by specially marked lines. However, on many different sports facilities and beaches the dimensions of the court can vary considerably. Nevertheless, for many players who play with friends for fun, this is not a major problem.

Above all, playing volleyball with friends means spending time outdoors, which is linked to oxygenation of the body. The game is also accompanied by a lot of emotions, which have a positive impact on our well-being. Endorphins, or happy hormones, are released, and when we exercise in the sunshine we burn plenty of calories and improve blood circulation.

Beach volleyball also has a huge impact on the appearance of our bodies! We are constantly on the move - jumping, bending and running, which shapes muscles and strengthens our condition. So in professional players we can see beautifully slender arms, a well-defined waist and shapely buttocks. So if you're wondering whether it's worth playing beach volleyball with your friends - definitely yes! It is a combination of the pleasant and the useful.
