The object of the game of rugby is to touchdown the ball in the opponent's score zone. It is marked by special rugby goals which should be located behind the back line of the pitch. RUGBY FROM THE BEGINNING
It is worth knowing that rugby has several variations. The traditional game involves 15 players per team. So-called rugby 7, where a total of 14 players are on the field, is gaining popularity. It was this variety that was put on the program of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The most important thing in the game of rugby is a touchdown rewarded with 5 points. The team that scores has the right to make an attempt to raise, that is to kick the ball between the goal posts and over the crossbar. A hit raise gives you another 2 points. A drop goal - a kick on goal during the game preceded by contact of the ball with the ground is rewarded with 3 points.
In rugby, players on one team can only pass the ball backwards to each other. If any player makes a mistake and throws the ball forward we will see a very distinctive element of rugby - the scrum formation. This involves a battle for the ball between the two teams that make up the ruck. At first glance, it looks like a mill with players pushing each other around.
