Protective nets made of polypropylene or high-strength polyester.
Strand thickness: 2,3 mm; 3,0 mm; 4,0 mm, eye size 3,0x3,0 cm or 3,5x3,5 cm.
The net is installed behind the ice rink bands, in places most exposed to falling out of the hockey puck.
Protective nets for ice rinks are designed to capture and slow down pucks heading towards the stands so that they do not harm the viewers watching the hockey match.
The nets are adapted to the size of the ice rink and installed in several ways.
The assembly method is delivered to the individual needs of users and the ice rink specifications.
BARRIER NETTING FOR ICE RINK
While figure skating and speed skating do not bring much risk to the audience sitting in the stands, hockey can be really dangerous. Therefore, it is necessary to install safety nets on every ice rink where hockey matches are played. The nets should be properly prepared and provide protection against speeding hockey pucks. What to look for when choosing a rink safety net?
ICE RINK PROTECTING NETS
Safety nets for ice rinks should meet the relevant requirements. This is mainly due to the fact that the hockey puck out of the pitch reaches speeds of up to 180 km/h. Therefore, the nets should be strong and break resistant. Not only the mesh itself should be strong, but above all the cord from which it was made. Such dimensions and strain should be well adjusted. The net screening viewers should not have gaps. In addition, its tension should also not be too high, because then it can bounce and return with impetus to the ice rink. The choice of mesh should be preceded by consultations and a project created by professionals, and completed with professional installation of the net.
WHY IS INSTALLATION OF NETS SO IMPORTNAT?
The net protecting spectators in the stands of the ice rink is necessary, primarily for safety reasons. As already mentioned, the hockey puck, that will be outside the ice rink, can do a lot of harm. It is hard to imagine admiring the hockey match in constant tension and fear, whether we and our loved ones will not be reached by the hockey puck. Nets are therefore necessary. While in other cases they are also installed to separate part of the sports halls and to prevent chasing the ball, in the case of hockey the main reason is the issue of safety. This is natural and therefore all ice rinks must be equipped with such a net.
WHAT CONDITIONS SHOULD BE FULFILLED BY PROTECTION NETS FOR ICE RINKS?
Protective nets for ice rinks should be made in accordance with the requirements set for them by hockey. Due to the fact that the hockey pucks are small and hard, and their high speed means that the nets must be properly prepared. They should be coarse and the material used should be resistant to the high force with which the puck hits the net. The eyes in the net should be as small as possible, so that the speeding pucks do not pass through one of them. 3 x 3 cm eye and 5 mm thick strand are recommended. These requirements are much more restrictive than for other nets. The height of the net also matters. It should be taken into account that the puck can be punched really high.
Hockey is an exciting and interesting winter sport. However, as you can see, it can also be dangerous. Not only for players, but also for supporters. Therefore, it is worth taking steps that will protect the audience and ensure their safe participation in the event. Protective nets will work best in this role.
