SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS – WHAT SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

2025-07-14

School principals and those responsible for purchasing sports equipment must pay attention to quality, safety standards, and functionality of the devices used by children and youth. Equipment for gymnasiums and sports fields should also motivate students to be physically active. We explain what to consider when choosing sports equipment for schools to invest in solutions tailored to the needs of young users.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS – REGULATIONS

Regulations issued by the Polish Ministry of Education define safety and hygiene requirements for equipment used in schools. According to them:
  • all equipment must have appropriate safety certificates and approvals,
  • goals, hoops, and other movable elements must be securely fixed if they pose a risk,
  • equipment must be adapted to students’ age and physical abilities.
It is also important that equipment complies with European standards, confirmed by the CE marking. Particular attention should be paid to standards such as PN-EN 913 (gymnastics equipment) and PN-EN 1270 (basketball equipment).

SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS – GYMNASIUM

A gymnasium should be equipped with:
  • gymnastic mats – in various thicknesses and firmness levels, with non-slip, easy-to-clean surfaces,
  • wall bars – permanently mounted for stretching and strength exercises,
  • vaulting boxes and horses – preferably height-adjustable,
  • gym benches – durable and equipped with non-slip feet.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS – TEAM SPORTS

Every gym should also include basketball hoops, either fixed or mobile. The latter are more suitable for smaller spaces.

Volleyball nets with posts are also essential. Modern systems allow for quick setup and removal. Handball or football goals should be stable yet easy to move. Compact goals with protective padding are becoming increasingly popular for smaller halls.

These goals are mounted to the wall using Velcro fasteners, allowing quick installation and removal.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS – OUTDOOR FIELDS

If the school has sufficient outdoor space, it is worth investing in basic athletics equipment such as a running track and a long jump board.

Even a short track allows for sprint training and competitions. Synthetic surfaces ensure safety. A long jump board adds variety to physical education classes.

LONG JUMP BOARD – with galvanized frame

The board includes accessories such as plasticine to check take-off accuracy during training.

Every school field should include at least football goals, basketball hoops, and volleyball posts. These must be suitable for outdoor use.

For younger children, it is also worth creating playground areas with climbing frames, slides, and swings to develop coordination and balance.

WHY INVEST IN QUALITY SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS?

Modern sports equipment encourages physical activity. Attractive and colorful facilities make students more willing to participate in physical education.

This is especially important in times of increasing childhood obesity and competition from digital entertainment. Well-chosen equipment can motivate young people to move.

Professional equipment allows students to train in conditions similar to those seen in professional sports. Using equipment similar to that of their idols can be highly motivating.

A well-equipped sports base is a key element of a modern school focused on comprehensive student development. Investing in quality equipment ensures safety, satisfaction, and motivation during physical education classes.
